Terms and Conditions

We are for Kentucky parents, by Kentucky parents. We are looking for informative articles and inspiring essays that are relevant and helpful to parents in Kentucky.

Topics can include pregnancy/parenting, local attractions and activities, health/fitness, recipes, DIY/crafts, and home decor/organization. If you have an idea for something else, go ahead and run it by us! We love having creative content on our site.

Here are some Dos and Don’ts.

Dos:

  • DO aim for 800-1000 words. A little shorter or longer is okay.
  • DO try to use short paragraphs and/or bullet points. In an age when most people are reading on their phones, many readers shy away from a big block of text.
  • DO proofread your work. Submissions that have excessive spelling and/or grammatical errors will not be accepted.
  • DO include a couple of relevant images to accompany your piece, if you want. Please ensure you have permission to use them if they are not your photos. If no photos are provided, we may add some.

Don’ts:

  • DON’T use someone else’s work. Plagiarism is not okay, and we do check. If you have a quote or source, please cite the original author.
  • DON’T submit content that has already been published on another blog or website.
  • DON’T promote your product or service in the post. If you are interested in advertising or sponsored posts with The Bluegrass Village, check out our Work With Us page or email jennifer@thebluegrassvillageblog.com.

Other Terms

We are not currently able to offer compensation for contributor posts, however, you may provide a link to your own website or social media page, which will be shared on your post. We will also share the post across our social media channels and create pins to share on Pinterest.

We may make some minor edits to your submission for clarity. Some submissions may not be accepted if they are not a good fit.
